Markus

Markus (born 1959 in Camberg) is a German pop singer who became known as Markus in the New Deutsche Welle in the early 1980s. In 1982 Markus released the long-playing ball bullets and rockets. The single I want to have fun comes from this album. It became a success in Germany and established Markus’ reputation as one of the most popular interpreters of the Neue Deutsche Welle.

Further decouplings were: “We are beautiful anyway”, “Kling, Klang Schicksalsmelodie” and “Kleine Taschenlampe brenn ‘,” a duet that Markus starred in 1982 in the film Gib Gas – Ich will Have Fun with Nena, which was recorded in the studio and live performances but was sung by Andrea-Maria Schneider (artist name “Andrea”).

After the end of the Neue Deutsche Welle, Mörl founded the band T.X.T. in 1985. and had a # 4 hit in Italy with the song “Girl’s Got A Brand New Toy”, this time in English. In addition, the band released the title “Cold As Ice”.

In 1987 Markus appeared again as a solo artist and was able to achieve a respectable success with “Sometime, somewhere”. This was followed in 1991 by “1000 candles will burn”. After Markus’s recordings from 2007 were only available for download, regular recordings have been on the market again since 2008. They are published by the German Schlager label Palm Records.

Since 2008 things have been moving forward: appearances on both the public service channels (ARD / ZDF) such as followed several times in the ZDF television garden as well as on some comeback shows on PRO 7 or RTL (chart show). current: Markus is regularly booked both at the currently strongly represented 70/80 events across Germany including NDW events. It can also be seen regularly in the early evening programs (see e.g. celebrity dinner, etc.).
