More InformationThey are one of the few artists who have been able to assert themselves through chart placements over the past almost 20 years – with more than 10 million records sold and dozens of TOP 10 hits, Rednex achieved what no one else in the German charts has yet achieved: REDNEX are the most persistent incumbents of 1st place in the German single charts since 1980 – they dominated them for a total of 25 weeks (Modern Talking occupies 2nd place in this list with 19 weeks).
The very first single in 1994 “Cotton Eye Joe” developed into a party classic and is still celebrated at countless parties, top positions worldwide and no. 1 in 15 countries !!
In 2011 the band looks back on 17 past years with world successes that everyone knows: “Spirit Of The Hawk” (2000), “Cotton Eye Joe”, “Old Pop In An Oak” (1995) or “Wish You Were Here ”(1995).
41 gold plates, 6 times triple platinum in Germany, 6 no. 1 hits in Germany, 10 consecutive top 40 hits and others the RSH Award for the most played radio song in Germany in the 90s.
In the summer of 2008 Rednex landed another number hit in Sweden with “Football is Our Religion”. The four are currently working on a new single that will not be long in coming.
In the past three years in particular, the project has undergone a revolutionary development at European festivals, which confirms a high booking rate.
The highlights so far were certainly the shows for New Year’s Eve in Berlin 2015/2016 and 2017/2018 in front of more than 500,000 viewers LIVE from ZDF.
